Anuj S. Vora
I am a research scientist with experience in working on complex problems from the broad area of decision sciences. I have worked on problems of decision-making in environments that involve
- decentralization :- the components observe local information and take decisions based on this and information acquired through interaction
- strategic behaviour :- the interacting entities or agents are strategic and act in a self-interested manner
- uncertainty :- there is stochasticity in the environment where the information is noisy and the effect of actions is uncertain
Applications include strategic decision-making in systems engineering and social sciences, data-driven predictive and
prescriptive analytics, bandit algorithm-based update of predictive models, recommendation systems, stochastic optimization. I have competence in using mathematical tools and theories from optimization, information theory, game theory, probability and statistics, machine learning, and reinforcement learning.
From 2023 to 2025, I was a postdoctoral researcher at Delft Center for Systems and Control group at the ME department at TU Delft. I worked with with Prof. Peyman Mohajerin Esfahani.
In 2022, I graduated with a Ph.D. in Systems and Control Engineering from Indian Insitute of Technology, Bombay. I was advised by Prof. Ankur A. Kulkarni in Systems and Control Engineering Department at IIT Bombay. I was also a postdoctoral researcher with Prof. Ankur for a short while. Before my doctorate, I obtained my B.Tech and M.Tech in Aerospace Engineering from IIT Madras in 2016.
